A press conference of the Council of the North Caucasus Economic Cooperation Association was held in Moscow today. The conference was attended by Karachay-Cherkessian leader Rashid Temezov, Dagestani President Ramazan Abdulatipov, Acting Governor of the Stavropol Territory Vladimir Vladimirov, Ingush leader Yunus-bek Yevkurov, Acting Head of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic Yury Kokov, North Ossetian leader Taymuraz Mamsurov and Head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov.
The assembled officials discussed the economic development of the North Caucasus region and the prospects for the Association.
The Dagestani leader underlined that the fact that the event is held in Moscow shows that the federal authorities pay special attention to the North Caucasus and are interested in the region's successful development.
The Ingush leader stressed the importance of inter-ethnic peace, while the head of the Chechen Republic pointed out the necessity of promoting traditional values and spirituality.
