UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon told Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a telephone conversation on Tuesday that he hoped that Iran would help resolve the Syrian conflict, RIA Novosti reports.
Geneva will host talks on the formation of a transitional government in Syria on January 22. Representatives of the Syrian regime and opposition and other countries in the region, including Iran, will take part in the talks.
