Georgia to continue fighting against "thieves in law"

The "thieves in law" of the Criminal Code will remain active,  the Minister of Justice of Georgia, Tea Tsulukiani said.

"Thieves in law in Georgia must be eliminated in Georgia once and for all so that Georgia becomes a modern civilized state," Trend quotes her as saying.

Under the Criminal Code thieves in law are punished with imprisonment of five to ten years.

As previously reported by Vestnik Kavkaza, about a thousand prisoners in Georgian prisons had gone on hunger strike demanding the abolition of "thieves in law" article.
