Experts, including Alexey Vlasov, Editor-in-Chief of Vestnik Kavkaza, said that Western opponents of Russia were manipulating international structures monitoring elections, using social networks, non-commerciaal organizations and mass media to form a distorted image of public opinions. They proposed the formation of instruments for counter-propaganda, Kommersant reports.
CSTO Director General Nikolai Bordyuzha said that revolutionary activists were initiating reforms for personal gain. Bordyuzha noted that a high-ranking functionary, hinting at Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Antanas Linkevičius, had been talking with Oleg Tyagnibok, one of the organizers of the Maidan protests and a leader of the Freedom Party.
Experts said that Russia was losing the media war against the West. They noted that the West was using propaganda methods of NATO from the 1970s. According to attendants of the conference, specialists cyber security centers, including one in Estonia, were involved.
Alexander Konuzin, Russian Assistant Deputy Defense Minister, said that the PCE and ODIHR were on the list of influence agents. Dmitry Ryurikov, Consulting Director of the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies, proposed measures to affect neighbours.
