Russia wants UN to fix agreements between Syrian regime and rebels

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said that the UN Security Council should fix the agreements Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s regime and opposition may reach during negotiations, Interfax reports.Commenting on France’s doubts about success of the Geneva-2 Conference, Bogdanov said that Paris had assured that it had been misinterpreted or misunderstood. The Russian diplomat agreed that doubts were justified because positions of the regime and opposition had many differences. Nonetheless, he noted that the conference was being organized for the purpose of exchanging positions, to help the sides find common interests and find a solution to the conflict.
