2014 will be the decisive year for establishment of the Eurasian Economic Union, said Speaker of the Lower Chamber of the Russian Parliament Sergey Naryshkin at the final session of 2013 today, RIA Novosti reports.
He noted the 2nd International Parliamentary Forum of Moscow, visit of Russian MPs to Strasburg and other events had proven that differences were not an obstacle for cooperation. Naryshkin added that confrontation levels in 2013 dropped.
The legislator reminded about the firm position of Russia in Syria, Iran and Ukraine. He expressed hope for an equal and mutually beneficial dialogue in 2014. Naryshkin noted that Russia will chair the G8 in 2014.
