Georgian president gets salary cut

Georgian President Georgy Margvelashvili has reduced his salary from 9,000 lari ($1 = 1.72 lari) to 6,900 lari, to keep the tradition of having a salary 100 lari smaller than the heads of the Constitutional and Supreme Courts, said leader of the parliamentary majority David Saganelidze, Trend reports.The parliament left their salaries at 7,000 lari. Margvelashvili will get a net sum of 5,500 lari per month. Changes to the salary will be approved by the parliament in the second reading.Georgian ministers will have the highest salary. They will get 7,300 lari.
