Georgian border guards let Armenian citizens pass

At the Upper Lars checkpoint Georgian border guards did not let several citizens of Armenia pass.  Georgian side spokesmen said to the citizens of Armenia, that they can not get to Armenia through the territory of Georgia. It was caused by  the  record in their passports indicating that they have crossed the border between Russia and South Ossetia at the "Lower Zaramag” checkpoint, reports Armenia Today.

According to the Georgian customs officers, the Armenian citizens aid the South Ossetian authorities in restoration of the republic. According to the Georgian spokesmen, it is enough for prohibition of crossing the border at the Upper Lars checkpoint.

We would notice that  according to the Georgian law  "On Occupied Territories", " foreign citizen, having visited the Georgian occupied territories without the permission of the official Tbilisi will not enter the territory of Georgia,  whichever purpose they intend to arrive for". Foreign citizens detained in the Georgia's territory with the abovementioned record in the passport  are liable to fine or imprisonment for 2 years, under the law of Georgia .
