The Georgian State Ministry for Reintegration was renamed to State Ministry for Reconciliation and Civil Equality on January 1, 2014. Paata Zakareishvili, the Head of the new ministry, will focus on prevention of conflicts and integration of ethnic minorities.
He clarified that the word 'reintegration' in the name of the ministry was an obstacle for contacts with the Abkhaz and Ossetian societies.
