EU worried about mass sacking of police officers in Turkey

The European Union has expressed its deep concern over the situation surrounding the corruption probes in Turkey and the mass sacking of police officers. According to the spokesman for the European Commission, Olivier Bailly, the country should investigate all the cases of corruption and waste and maintain the rule of law.

"We are worried about the mass sacking of police officers, which culminated in sacking 350 policemen in Ankara Monday night. We demand that Turkey as a potential member of the EU should be committed to its international obligations," he said.
