Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad claimed that new penalties would only strengthen the country’s motivation to develop nuclear program, reports Radio “Svoboda”.
In address Ahmadinejad has denied charge that Iran seeks to use its civilian nuclear program as a cover to develop nuclear weapons.
"Our enemies don't want Iran to be a prosperous state with developed economy, they try to stop our progress, and they will fail," - Ahmadinejad said. "The more you reveal your animosity, the more it will increase our people's motivation to double efforts for construction and progress of Iran."
Ahmadinejad has criticized Obama’s politics, which still remains hostile toward Iran, reports ITAR-TASS.
"Obama started his presidency from the declaration of new principles in foreign policy. But what has been changed? Iran is still under pressure and threat of sunctions," - pointed out Iranian leader.
The U.S. and some of its allies strive for imposing sanctions against Iran. This week China, which previously was against possible new U.N. sanctions against Iran, agreed to resume negotiations on this question.
