Turkish ministers involved in corruption scandal may be charged

Turkey's former ministers, who resigned after their reputation had been ruined by the corruption scandal, may soon be charged with bribery, the Anadolu agency reports on Saturday.

The Ministry of Justice has already filed an official request to the Parliament asking lawmakers to lift the former officials' immunity.

Nine ministers were replaced last December after the Turkish police started an unprecedented coruption probe, resulting in the arrests of prominent businessmen, officials and relatives of several members of the cabinet.
