The head of the National Archive of the Georgian Ministry of Justice, Teona Iashvili, has met with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Egypt to Georgia, His Eminence Wahid Eldin Ismail Galal, Georgia Online reports.
At the meeting the sides looked at ways of developing business ties between the archives of Georgia and Egypt, experience exchange between the agencies for preservation and restoration of documents and opportunities for seminars, the National Archive reports.
According to an agreement between the two countries, the staff of the Georgian National Archive will participate in a seminar organized by the National Archive of Egypt, concerning the preservation and restoration of ancient documents. The two-week seminar will be held in January 2011 in Egypt.
A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the National Library and Egyptian Archive and the National Archive of Georgia in May this year.
