Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said that political, economic and humanitarian partnership with the EU was one of the main priorities of Azerbaijani foreign policy. He thanked Italy for support, Trend reports.
The minister noted that Azerbaijan was being modernized in all fields and emphasized assistance of the EU. Mammadyarov added that Azerbaijan was harmonizing the law with European standards, strengthening democracy, developing commerce, integrating in the European education system.
He said that Azerbaijan had bilateral and multilateral relations within the framework of the Eastern Partnership program.
The minister emphasized simplification of the visa regime with the EU at the Vilnius summit of the Eastern Partnership.
Mammadyarov stressed that Azerbaijan and the EU were strategic partners in the energy field.
