US Secretary of State John Kerry expressed concerns with Russian-Iranian trade deals at a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, said Caitlin Hayden, spokeswoman of the US National Security Council. She noted that such deals contradict the agreements signed between six mediators and Iran and may provoke new sanctions, RIA Novosti reports.
According to last week’s information, Moscow and Tehran were reportedly negotiating swap deals, where Russia would receive 500,000 barrels of oil a day (25 million tons a year) in exchange for equipment and products. Iran denied signing such deals.
