Corruption scandal stirs Turkey up more than coups, expert says

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's statement that the corruption scandal has been organized by foreign powers is aimed at sabotaging the coming municipal elections and threatens democracy, Turkish political analyst Fehim Tastekin says.

According to the expert, the whole situation definitely affects the country's foreign policy, but the crisis started because the citizens no longer trust the government and want to find out how corrupt the officials are.

The issue is a moral controvesy rather than a political game, he believes.
