The Russian Foreign Ministry said that Moscow was planning to expand mutually beneficial ties with Tehran, ITAR-TASS reports.
The ministry reminded that Russia and Iran were developing actively, expanding their political dialogue and intensifying economic contacts. Their relations base on the principles of friendship and good neighbours.
Moscow and Tehran will have a positive effect on the situation in the Middle East and stability in the region. They will attend the fourth Caspian summit in Astrakhan in autumn 2014 and sign a set of documents. Russia appreciates efforts of Iran to fight drug trafficking from Afghanistan.
