Alexander Khloponin, Russian Vice Prime Minister and Plenipotentiary Presidential Envoy to the NCFD, said that the Caucasus was one of the most important geopolitical territories of Russia and served to benefit the country, Yuga.ru reports.
He emphasized that many great people went through the Caucasus in their lives. Khloponin noted the culture and traditions in the region and believes that they were very needed in modern conditions.
The presidential envoy concluded that the Caucasus had always been absorbing all the best Russia could offer because it was growing and developing fast. Russia should absorb all the best from the Caucasus too, he added.
