Russian senator Eduard Rossel said that the Olympic Games in Sochi were a national project that demonstrated the consolidation of the country, ITAR-TASS reports.
He noted that Russia needed an example to give the nation a boost. The Olympics gave Russians a feeling of living in a common large country. People started believing that they could accomplish serious projects.
