Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev today fired Secretary of State Marat Tazhin and Kazakh Ambassador to Moscow Galym Orazbakov. Member of the History Faculty of the Lomonosov Moscow State University discussed the issue with Vestnik Kavkaza.
According to the expert, the two dismissals may be connected to each other, as some analysts believe that the former Secretary of State may be appoint as the new Ambassador to Russia in order to negotiate the integration process in the framework of the Eurasian Union project.
However Tazhin could have been fired, as there is a struggle for the position of President Nazarbayev's successor within the Kazakh elite, the expert notes.
