Azerbaijan holds first place among CIS countries and Europe for the lowest crime rate per 100,000 people. Full control over the crime situation and restoration of stability have created all the necessary conditions for a normal life for citizens and visitors and investment of large sums into the Azerbaijani economy, Azerbaijani Interior Minister General Colonel Ramil Usubov said at a meeting with Iraqi ambassador to Azerbaijan Heydar Shiya Gubeyshi al-Barrack, Trend reports, citing the press-service of the Azerbaijani Interior Ministry.
Usubov said that they need to work against international terrorism, illegal drug trafficking, human trafficking and illegal migration.
Usubov noted that Azerbaijan is one of the most active members of the anti-terrorist coalition.
The Iraqi ambassador thanked his hosts for the reception and the detailed information.
Al-Barrack noted that there is a long history of friendly relations between the two countries. He said that studying the Azerbaijani experience will be beneficial for the Iraqi police. He also mentioned the importance of signing the protocol on establishing and expanding links between the corresponding structures of the two countries.
