Syrian Minister for Information Omran az-Zoubi said in Montreux that there was no civil war in Syria. The only war in the country is one against terrorism, he said, Trend reports.
The minister emphasized that the government was fighting Al Qaeda and the Al-Nusra Front. He denied responsibility of the government for torture and mass murders.
Syrian Representative to the UN Bashar Jafari said that the upcoming negotiations at the Geneva-2 Conference will be a dialogue between Syrians. He added that the talks were organized to discuss the future of Syria, not to criticize President Assad.
Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem said that Assad’s presidency and prospects of the Syrian government will be the red line the government will not cross.
