Russian Labor Ministry does not approve lifting of quota and amnesty for migrants

A Delovaya Rossiya General Council member Anton Stepanov proposed the development of additional initiatives to attract more migrants and legalize them in Russia, Izvestia reports.Russia will be short of 10 million workers by 2020. Stepanov proposed migration reforms to simplify legalization procedures for migrants, give them salaries equal to Russians and pardon illegal migrants.The Labor Ministry did not approve the idea to lift quotas for labor migrants and amnesty. Stepanov said that the Federal Migration Service approved many of the ideas and even the ministry itself contained officials who were positive about the amnesty.
