Netanyahu: The world must stop Iran from developing nuclear weapons

Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the international community should stop Iran from developing nuclear weapons.

"The international community should not stray from the path and must prevent Iran from achieving nuclear weapons capability," Netanyahu is quoted by ITAR-TASS.

The announcement came in reaction to to the words of the Iranian president, Hassan Rouhani, who said earlier that Iran "is in compliance with all international agreements relating to nuclear non-proliferation."

According to the Prime Minister of Israel, "Iran continues working on its centrifuges and on a heavy-water reactor, as well as creating intercontinental missiles, the sole purpose of which is nuclear weapons." The purpose of the Iranian government "is the easing of sanctions without concessions on its military nuclear program," Netanyahu says.

"While Rouhani speaks about peace with the Middle East, he refuses, even today, to recognize Israel, and his regime every day calls for the destruction of Israel," he adds.
