Protesters in West Ukraine take over four regional administrations

Ukrainian oppositionists had negotiations with President Victor Yanukovych in Kiev yesterday. Vitaly Klitschko, Arseny Yatsenyuk and Oleg Tyagnibok told the demonstrators about the results of the talks, ITAR-TASS reports.

According to Klitschko, the sides agreed to stop hostilities and the government will release the detained protesters. The demonstrators told Tyagnibok that they were unhappy with the agreements and wanted to continue the fight.

Yatsenyuk said that the Maidan protests were expanding to the Grushevsky Street. He urged protesters to be disciplined and orderly.

Protesters in Lviv, Rivne, Ternopil and Cherkasy took over the local administrations. The administration of Cherkasy was de-occupied, others are still under control of the opposition. The demonstrators started building barricades round administrations in Lviv and Rivne.
