Russia and the EU will not simplify the visa regime at their summit on January 28, said Vygaudas Usackas, EU Envoy to Moscow, RIA Novosti reports.
The sides will hold a strategic dialogue about their relations as a whole, according to the envoy. He noted that a visa-free regime was a priority and there was progress in forming such a regime.
A road map for adoption of a visa free regime was presented and approved in late December 2013. It consists of over 40 recommendations that need realizing in order to start the next stage of work. Isackas said that Russia and the EU were simultaneously working on a simplification of the visa regime.
