Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev told WTO Director General Roberto Azevedo that joining the international organization was a priority for Kazakhstan, Trend reports.
Azevedo assured that the WTO Secretariat will give Kazakhstan all the necessary support it needs to join the WTO. Nazarbayev asked the EU to assist in concluding WTO membership talks.
The Kazakh leader expressed confidence that joining the WTO would be an additional guarantee for European investors and would improve the investment and business climate in the country in the context of the global competition.
Azavedo called the harmonization of Kazakh and Russian obligations in custom fees within the framework of the Customs Union the key unsettled issue.
