Speaker of the Zheleznovodsk Duma, Vera Melnikova, of the United Russia has received 54.32% of votes and became the Mayor of Zheleznovodsk, ITAR-TASS reports.
Anatoly Zubtsov received 39.83% of votes.
The vote turnover exceeded that of the March 2013 municipal elections by about 5%.
Over 16,000 people (37.93% of the population) in Zheleznovodsk, Inozemtsevo, Kapelnitsa and Beshtau voted at 26 polling stations. No complaints about violations were reported.
Zheleznovodsk Mayor Vladimir Silantyev died in a car accident on October 12.
