IAEA inspects Gachin uranium mines

Bekhruz Kamalvandi, spokesman of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, has said that three IAEA inspectors have arrived to check the Gachin uranium mines in Bandar Abbas on Wednesday, ITAR-TASS reports.The mines have not been inspected since 2005. The inspection will be carried out according to a deal Tehran and the IAEA signed to prove the peaceful nature of the nuclear program.IAEA inspectors visited the heavy water facility in Arak in December 2013 within the framework of the first stage of realization of the deals. Kamalvandi said that the second stage of the document will start on February 8.Iran and six mediators signed agreements in Geneva to freeze the nuclear program for 6 months in exchange for the easing of some sanctions.
