Ukrainian president dismisses government

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has accepted Prime Minister Mykola Azarov's resignation. According to Ukrainian law the cabinet is now considered dismissed. First Deputy Prime Minister Sergey Arbuzov is now set to serve as acting head of the government until the new cabinet is formed.

 

Mykola Azarov offered his resignation to the president amid vehement protests in different parts of the country. The protesters also demand early presidential and parliamentary elections.
