US assures Turkey of support

Ben Rhodes, deputy national security adviser for strategic communication for US President Barack Obama, has assured Turkey of Washington's support, Trend reports.Rhodes made the statement as a response to some media reports saying that Obama was ignoring telephone calls from Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The US official said that Obama and Erdogan had active telephone conversations.He reminded that Turkey was a democratic state and a NATO member and Washington was not interfering in its affairs.A similar statement was made after US Ambassador Francis Ricciardone’s meeting with leader of the Republican People’s Party Kemal Kilicdaroglu.
