The Ukrainian parliament passed a bill on amnesty for detained protesters yesterday evening. According to the document, all detained protesters, except the ones responsible for especially grave crimes, will be released. The law will come into force as soon as protesters leave occupied administrative buildings and offices of local autonomies.
The document was passed without discussions at committees. Oleg Tyagnibok, leader of the Freedom Party added that the bill should not have been the first to be put for voting. He emphasized that protests will continue and that resignation of Ukrainian Prime Minister Azarov and Education and Science Minister Tabachnik was not enough.
Igor Shvayka of the Freedom Party announced plans to protest against the law today. He noted that a law cannot be signed until two days after its approval.
Vitaly Klitschko, leader of the UDAR Party, said that instead of calming the population down, the law will only add heat to the struggle.
