US President Barack Obama’s claims that Iran was trying to obtain nuclear weapons were false, said spokeswoman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry Marzieh Afkham, RIA Novosti reports.
Obama said yesterday that shutdown of the Iranian nuclear program needed scrupulous monitoring with no expectations of trust or successful negotiations. He said that the US had eased sanctions to give Iran a diplomatic chance.
Afkham noted that the US should follow all the rules set in the deal signed by Iran and six international mediators.
