Syrian peace talks renew in Geneva

The Syrian government and opposition have started new peace talks at the UN Palace of Nations in Geneva within the framework of the first round of talks, RIA Novoati reports.The sides agreed yesterday to continue negotiations. Lakhdar Brahimi, Special Envoy of the UN and the LAS for Syria, said that the talks will be concluded on Friday and followed by the second round of negotiations in a week.Brahimi noted that he had not expected any decisions in the first round and wanted the sides to continue negotiations until the end of the round. He expressed hope for more fruitful talks in the second round.
