Alternate parliament restored in Ingushetia

The Ingush opposition has spoken about the restoration of the council of representatives of Ingush teyps (tribes), Yuga.ru reports, citing Kommersant.

The first session will be dedicated to approving the new charter, one of Ingush opposition leaders, Magomed Khazbiyev, said.

He said that the primary goal of the alternate parliament is the prevention of kidnappings and extra-judicial executions.

He spoke about masked people kidnapping people and not informing the relatives about their location.

The alternate parliament was established in 2008, when Ingush President Murat Zyazikov was in power. The structure was established at the times of instability and a complicated situation in the republic. With the coming of Yunus-Bek Yevkurov to power, the work of the structure was halted and he publicly promised to establish a dialogue with all political powers and stop kidnappings. But no real measures have been taken so far, the opposition say.

The republic has one council of teyps working under the auspices of the republic authorities, established in October last year, initiated by Yunus-Bek Yevkurov.
