The final day of first round of inter-Syrian consultations has started in Geneva today, mediated by Lakhdar Brahimi, Special Envoy of the UN and the LAS, ITAR-TASS cites a message of the UN press service of 1.45 pm.
The consultations were organized between the Syrian government and the National Coalition to end the civil war ongoing for about 3 years.
So far, the sides have failed to reach any agreements or find any common grounds. However, the sides have been sitting behind the same negotiating table for the first time in 3 years. They agreed to meet in Geneva again. Resignation of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is the key aspect of disputes for the government and opposition.
