The president of the Georgian breakaway republic of Abkhazia, Alexander Ankvab, has congratulated his counterpart from Nauru, Divavesi Vaka, on the country's Independence Day.
Ankvab stressed that his republic is thankful to Nauru, which supports Abkhazia's struggle for independence.
Nauru is one of the few countries that recognize Abkhazia as an independent state, along with Russia, Nicaragua, Venezuela, Nauru, Tuvalu, the partially-recognised republic of South Ossetia and the unrecognised states of Transdniestria and Nagorno-Karabakh.
