Xi Jinping , Secretary General of the Communist Party of China, Wang Huning, Chief of CPC Policy Research Office, Li Zhanshu, Chief of the General Office of the Communist Party, Yang Jiechi, State Councilor of China, will arrive in Sochi today to attend the opening of the Olympic Games on February 7, RIA Novosti reports.
Russian Ambassador to China Andrey Denisov said that Russia and China plan to discuss bilateral political, economic and humanitarian relations.
Jinping will stay in Russia until February 8. It will be his first foreign visit in 2014. According to the Chinese Foreign Ministry, the visits “demonstrates China’s support of the Olympic movement and efforts of Russia to organize the Winter Olympic Games.”
