A three-day cease-fire has been declared in Homs (Syria), Interfax reports.
The cease-fire was achieved after long negotiations between the Homs governor and Yacob El Hillo, UN Regional Humanitarian Coordinator in Syria. The Russian Embassy in Damascus played an important role in the peace process.
The local population will be given food and medical aid. Humanitarian aid will also be sent to residents of Old Homs who want to stay.
