Russian President Vladimir Putin has thanked Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan for helping build Olympic facilities in Sochi, ITAR-TASS reports.
Putin reminded that Turkish companies had completed construction worth $50 billion since the early 1990s. Erdogan expressed hope that the Turkish companies working in Russia would contribute to preparations for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
The Russian president noted that the two countries had been developing relations in other spheres, although trade turnover had dropped. He thanked Erdogan for visiting Sochi and wished Turkish athletes success at the Olympic Games.
