The third consignment of chemical weapons has been removed from Syria, Reuters reports, citing a statement of the Organization for the Prohibition of
Chemical Weapons (OPCW).
Since January 7, two loadings have been completed. Export of the chemicals from the port of Latakia is carried out by the Danish and Norwegian ships Ark Futura and Taiko, RIA Novosti reports.
In accordance with the schedule adjusted by the OPCW, priority chemicals, including about 20 tons of toxic mustard gas, shall be removed by March 31,
2014, and by the end of June 2014 all Syrian chemical weapons must be destroyed.
