Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said after a meeting with his Algerian counterpart Ramtane Lamambra that Russia expected the second round of inter-Syrian talks in Geneva to be a success, ITAR-TASS reports.
It was announced yesterday that Russian and US representatives will meet Lakhdar Brahimi, Special Envoy of the UNSC, in Geneva on February 14. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov and US Under Secretary of State Wendy Sherman will take part in the talks.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said after the announcement of the Geneva-2 initiative by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State John Kerry, that the two states will monitor the negotiation process constantly.
