Sources in the Israeli foreign ministry confirm that Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has announced that the two countries are going to improve bilateral relations. The sources also inform that the parties have already drafted a corresponding agreement.
Even though the text of the agreement is being kept a secret, it's believed that Israel will pay Turkey $20 million in compensation to victims of the Israeli attack on the Mavi Marmara. The sum is less than Turkey has demanded, but much greater than the Israeli authorities have offered.
In exchange, Turkey is expected to cancel lawsuits filed against Israel, the sources say.
