The constitutional commission of the Turkish parliament has passed the democratization project promised by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on September 30, 2013.
The project will oblige all political parties to have two chairmen, as well as agitation carried out only in the Turkish language. Nationalist crimes will be punished more severely. Hijab bans at state offices and in the Army will be lifted.
The opposition said that the package of democratization initiatives was violating interests of the country because it had no points on the rights of the Turkish people.
