The sides in the Syrian conflict have started negotiations with Lakhdar Brahimi, Special Envoy of the UN and the Arab League for Syria, ITAR-TASS reports.
Brahimi met Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov. US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Wendy Sherman will meet Brahimi on February 13.
The special envoy will insist on meetings with the sides of the Syrian conflict to discuss efforts to fight terrorism and formation of the transitional government.
