Iranian Vice President Masoumeh Ebtekar said at the opening of the 13th international ecological exhibition that Iran and Armenia will found the Peace and Friendship Park on their border, ANSPRESS reports.
The two states came up with the idea to found the park in 2012, when they signed the agreement on foundation of a national park on the border as a sign of cooperation.
The park will cover 65,000 hectares. It will protect nature and promote ecotourism. Ebtekar hopes that the construction of the park will start in the near future. She emphasized that Tehran considered foundation of a similar park with Iraq.
