Suleyman Aslan, the ex-Director General of Turkey’s HALKBANK who was arrested in December 2013 in an anti-corruption operation, has been released, Trend reports.
Ali Fuat Taskesenlioglu, his successor and member of the board of the bank, was appointed in February 2014.
The special operation in Istanbul and Ankara organized on December 17, 2013, resulted in dozens of people, including businessmen and sons of some ministers, detained. They were charged with corruption, smuggling and sales of narcotics.
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan named members of the new government after a meeting with President Abdullah Gul in late December 2013.
