Grozny Mayor Islam Kadyrov has approved the plan for the harmonization of interethnic relations and the development of national minorities in Grozny in 2014. The plan will progress according to the Russian Strategy for State National Policy until 2025, the Chechen government reports.
National minorities will be encouraged to engage in the socio-economic, political and cultural life of the society and city under principles of mutual respect.
The document consists of 49 points. It includes classes to teach tolerance at education centers, beautification of Orthodox graveyards, theme exhibitions of children’s art, contests, meetings of the mayor and residents of different nationalities, concerts.
