Protesters gathered on Kyiv's Independence Square are demanding the immediate resignation of President Viktor Yanukovych. The president has already agreed to hold early presidential elections, but has not specified the date.
Radical groups within the opposition say that, if the president does not resign by 10 a.m. Kyiv time (12 a.m Moscow time), they will storm the residence of the presidential staff.
The president, according to some reports, has already left Kyiv. His current whereabouts are unknown.
