The Supreme Court of Russia extended today the remand of the ex-mayor of Makhachkala, Said Amirov.This court decision was made during the consideration of the petition by the Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation to change the territorial jurisdiction and transfer the case to the North Caucasus District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don. The investigation into Amirov, who is suspected of making preparations to commit a terrorist act and illicit arms trafficking, concluded in December 2013.
